24th Anniversary Of 9-11-“Reading Of The Names”

August 28, 2025 (Simpsonville SC) Upstate Hot Tubs and the city of Simpsonville will hold a very special memorial to honor the 24th Anniversary of 9-11 at on 9-11-2025 at 8:15am.

Where were you when the World Stopped. On September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Almost 3,000 people were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which triggered major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism.

Please join us Thursday 9-11-2025 at 8:15am at Gracely Park 406 E. Curtis St Simpsonville- near the fountain monument for the “Reading Of The Names- Remember and Honor 911 Memorial. The ceremony will start right at 8:15am with the Presenting of the colors, National Anthem, Pledge of allegiance and invocation. We will have members of the Simpsonville Fire, Simpsonville Police, members of the Simpsonville City Council and more. We will place 4 wreaths in front of the waterfall monument for The North Tower, South Tower, Shanksville and the Pentagon.

We will observe a moment of silence with a bell for each of the following that occurred in 9-11-2021.

8:46 am – American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

9:03 am – United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into WTC’s South Tower.

9:37 am – American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the western façade of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

9:59 am – The South Tower of the World Trade Center collapses.

10:03 am- United Airlines Flight 93, was flown in the direction of Washington, D.C. This flight was the only plane not to hit its intended target instead crashing in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

10:28 am – The World Trade Center’s North Tower collapses, 102 minutes after being struck by Flight 11.

We will have free coffee, donuts and waters while supplies last. Everyone attending will receive a Free American Flag presented by Upstate Hot Tubs and a 911 memorial wrist band.

We encourage everyone to park in both parking lots near city hall. Please bring your own chairs.
